Seized Parrots returned to the wild after three years


In 2010 a group of 108 Gray Parrots were seized at Sofia Airport.

After 3 years of court procedures the remaining 33 parrots were sent to Uganda thanks to the cooperation between the World Parrot Trust,
the Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria, the Sofia Zoo, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC), the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA),
the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT).

18 of them are now released successfully on Ngamba Island in Uganda.
