Conservationists said two birds released in 2009 had successfully raised a male chick in Fife.
Eighty-five white tailed sea eagles have been released from a forest near the east coast since 2007.
Most have moved long distances from the release point, with some ending up in the west Highlands where birds have been reintroduced at different sites over a period of more than four decades.
Once a regular sight in Scotland, the UK’s biggest raptors – nicknamed flying barn doors because of their 8ft wingspans – were persecuted to extinction by 1918.
