Detective Sergeant Mick Walker from Merseyside Police, the new lead for the national cyber enabled wildlife crime priority delivery group (PDG) has made an instant impact with the launch of Operation Visualise. Drawing on industry expertise, DS Walker will be assisting Wildlife Crime enforcers out on the front line by enhancing their digital capabilities.
Sergeant Walker says “Rural and wildlife crime is a difficult area to investigate and visual evidence that can be obtained is often of poor quality or on older systems and may not quite give you what you need to progress your investigations. Operation Visualise will help provide officers with the best evidence using new technologies. In the coming months the Cyber PDG and I hope to highlight a range of cyber capabilities and practices that will enable enhance wildlife investigations in the UK”.
