 – a chance for all involved in Badger conservation and protection to celebrate just how magnificent and important one of our oldest native species is to the British countryside and its people.

·          Badger Persecution has been a UK wildlife crime priority since 2009

·          UK National Wildlife Crime Unit have a web page dedicated to the badger priority 

·          Since 2013 there have been over 30 convictions for badger crime in the UK

·          2 males were imprisoned for badger crime in 2018 

·          In 2017, in Northern Ireland, a male was fined £7,500 for unnecessary cruelty to the dogs he used for badger baiting
