GUWAHATI: With armed militants increasingly getting involved in rhino killings, the poaching scenario in the state has turned complex and is posing a tough challenge for the forest department.
The involvement of militants in the killing of two rhinos in Burapahar forest range of Kaziranga National Park on Wednesday is not the first such instance. According to wildlife crime experts, over the last one year, militants from the neighbouring Karbi Anglong district were involved in most of poaching cases in Kaziranga.
