“A MAN has been fined for illegally importing elephant ivory into New Zealand.
The case against Jiezhen Jiang came about after raids at two homes, including one in Cheltenham.
Police raided a house in Duke Street, Fairview, in November 2011, and seized elephant tusks believed to be worth thousands of pounds on the black market.
Jiang, 58, from Auckland, has now been fined $12,000”
