Officers from the National Wildlife Crime Unit and Cumbria Police executed a search warrant at a house in the Workington area of Cumbria on Friday 17th July 2015. The warrant had been issued under the provisions the Control of Trade in Endangered Species (Enforcement) Regulations 1997 as a result of evidence gleaned during other investigations and involved individuals trading in endangered species over the internet.
During the search Officers seized a nine pieces of what is believed to be ivory. A man in his mid 20’s is due to be interviewed in the next few days.
