DUE to the lack of black rhinos, mountain gorillas and giant pandas it may come as a surprise to discover that there are three police officers whose job it is to protect animals in Crawley.
But while the town’s wildlife may not be endangered, it doesn’t mean that crimes you would normally associate with the African plains – such as poaching – don’t occur.
Sergeant Chris Glasspool’s main role is with Crawley Police’s response team, tackling a range of emergencies as they happen.
